Starry Audio Syzygy Review: Mellow Moods
Over the past months, I’ve introduced and reviewed a variety of new premium IEM brands, such as King Melody, Horizon Doom, and Eminent Ears. Today, I’m confident in introducing a relatively new brand I’ve been looking into for quite some time, and I’m now satisfied to introduce it to you guys. The name is Starry Audio, and today we’ll be reviewing their second IEM product, called the ‘Sygyzy’. Starry Audio Syzygy is a 7-driver flagship model using 1DD+4BA+2EST, priced at about $1,720 (13,500 HKD). Let’s dive into the what and how, and compare the sound with similarly priced competitors.

Who is Starry Audio?
Starry Audio is a premium UIEM/CIEM brand based in Hong Kong since 2022. The first time I became aware of this brand was in the same year, at the Japan Fujiya-Avic show, where Starry Audio debuted its 2BA+1DD IEM, Yoru. I was quite pleased with the delicate tuning and concept, yet Yoru wasn’t quite there yet to give me that “wow-factor”. However, after a period of refinement, Starry Audio has recently made a comeback with two flagship products: Syzygy and Yozora, the latter being a slightly higher-end model priced at $ 2,155 (16880 HKD).
Stanley, the founder of Starry Audio, shared that the brand name “Starry” was chosen to evoke the feeling of gazing at the constantly shifting night sky and to offer a unique, emotional experience when users wear and listen to Starry Audio IEMs. For this reason, their product names are all chosen from Japanese words related to the sky and space: Yoru (Night), Syzygy (straight-line configuration of three celestial bodies), and Yozora (Night Sky).

Packaging & Accessories
Syzygy comes in a vibrant pink box. It’s quite a simple packaging design Starry Audio created for their products, but it still includes the essentials. Once opening reveals a roomy carrying case including Syzygy IEMs, 3 pairs of Nostalgia Audio XWB eartips, a leather cable tie, an earpiece mesh bag, user instructions, and a warranty card. The carrying case is large enough to house all accessories or another set of IEMs when needed. While I don’t have much to complain about the packaging, I do hope they would’ve included a bit more stock eartips. On the positive side, the stock cable is very well made and quite special, which I’ll explain below.

“Lushly” Pink, Tribrid Earpieces
Syzygy uses 7 drivers per side with a 4-way crossover, 1DD+4BA+2EST tribrid setup. A 9.2mm dynamic driver handles the lows, 2BA for the mids, another 2BA for the mid-highs, and 2EST for the high-ultra highs. Starry Audio stated that the model name was inspired by the three different types of drivers being utilized, just like the meaning of “Syzygy”, or the three celestial stars aligning together.
Visually, Starry Audio used a pink, transparent resin body for Syzygy, a color that isn’t easy to find on the market. However, the glittery, textured, ambiguous faceplate color, which sits somewhere between pale pink and purple, makes the earpieces look surprisingly premium and eye-catching. Alongside, the pink resin shell is highly transparent and not too thick, making it appear more purple-pink in person.
So, to fellow male audiophiles, don’t worry as Syzygy’s color theme won’t be ‘burdening’ at all – even if you’ve never used pink products before. Starry Audio executed the faceplate art nicely – the transition occurs as the glittery shine and colors emerge once tilted at different angles, much like numerous stars flowing through the space.

Special Cable – Rolling Force Choco
For the stock cable, Starry Audio collaborated with Rolling Force, a custom cable manufacturer based in Hong Kong that has been rising in popularity for its excellent tuning and sound quality. Rolling Force Choco is a 4‑wire, high‑purity copper cable using a blend of 4N and 5N Litz OFC wires. The wires have a warm, chocolate‑brown tint (hence the name), and the overall build feels premium without being bulky. The hardware uses a matte metallic finish with grey and silver color tones.
