Nostalgia Audio Guinevere Review: World’s First Quad-Alloy

Paired with PMG Audio Apx ME (Review link)

Pairing Apx ME with Guinevere highlights how well the cable’s lush timbre complements the IEM’s holographic bass and titanium‑infused mids. At first, imagining these two being put together made me wonder if musicality or the ‘immersiveness’ may be overpowering, though that wasn’t the case – in fact, Guinevere does a very nice job elevating the Apx ME experience.

Apx ME already delivers a vast, spherical low‑end presence through its DD+VCD synergy, and Guinevere adds texture and resonance, making the bass feel more organic without inflating volume. Vocals, which are smooth and deep‑toned on Apx ME, gain extra harmonic density and warmth, sounding even more lifelike and immersive. Treble remains silky and expansive, but Guinevere refines the decay, adding a more natural shimmer that ties the highs seamlessly into the rest of the spectrum. The soundstage, already spherical and immersive, becomes darker in the background and more layered, giving the presentation a heightened sense of depth and cohesion. I’d pick Guinevere as a great cable upgrade option that’ll make Apx ME’s already-realistic sound even more captivating.

Paired with Nostalgia Audio Pendragon (Review link)

Being marked as the 5th-year achievement for the brand, Nostalgia Audio Pendragon is the summit-fi flagship that offers incredibly musicality and immersive music listening. As mentioned in the introduction, Nostalgia has released both Guinevere and Pendragon, each as their flagship cable and IEMs, and they are designed to be paired together for maximum potential.

Naturally, Pendragon was the first pairing I tried, and while I expected synergy, the actual result was even more impressive. Guinevere enriches Pendragon’s already grand timbre with added creaminess and depth, making vocals sound more lifelike and instruments more textured. The bass gains elasticity and resonance, filling the headroom with a warmer, more atmospheric foundation. What surprised me most was how Guinevere expanded Pendragon’s stage without smudging its clarity – the layering remains intact, yet the sound feels more spacious and harmonized.

It’s a pairing that feels inevitable, but still manages to surprise with how naturally the two complement each other. If you’re using Nostalgia Pendragon as your main flagship IEM, Guinevere is a serious upgrade to consider, as it enriches everything Pendragon stands for.

Campfire Audio Andromeda 10 (Review coming soon!)

I’m very pleased with this pairing. The Andromeda 10 offers great technical performance while keeping things musical; those who are cable-savvy would spot from the sound that these 10BA driver arrays could bloom even further with a better cable. Guinevere just does that – perfectly. If allowed to add a pinch of salt, Andromeda 10 paired with Guinevere almost feels like an additional dynamic driver has been added for the bass.

Guinevere unleashes the extravagant low-end atmosphere and rumbles. The bass dives deeper in tone and fuller in body. Guinevere gives the meaty, elastic bass thumps that resemble a dynamic driver’s diaphragm. The Guinevere-immersive headroom also takes place for Andromeda 10. Not only does the headroom expand in size, but it also becomes spatial, providing a lot more layering and distancing details that weren’t highlighted with the stock cable. Mids are a lot more mature and deeper in tone. Trebles are smoother yet more refined in detail.
