Kinera Verdandi TWS Review: The All-in-One Flagship

Kinera Verdandi TWS Review: All-in-One Flagship Solution

With various Chi-Fi brands striving hard and making achievements, Kinera is a brand that has always impressed me with its advancement. Started as a small boutique brand, Kinera now has a wide range of product lines that range from budget to high-end. We’ve previously reviewed Kinera ThorKing, Nott Phantom, Verdandi, and many more. While these products differ in pricing and concepts, one thing that they all have in common is that they’re all wired.

Today, we have a special product – Kinera Verdandi TWS. Being Kinera’s first high-end TWS IEMs, it also has a very unique trait where it has the ability to be both true-wireless and wired, with extra features. Let’s see what Verandi TWS has to offer, how it performs, and compare it with other competing IEMs. Kinera Verdandi TWS is priced at $1,299 and is available in two color variants (Cosmic Black / Luminous Purple).

Earpiece Design / Specs

The original Kinera Verdandi impressed me with its visual artwork earlier, and Verdandi TWS inherits the very design style as the original. The earpiece shells are hand-painted with premium, fine resin arts that give great artwork details and three-dimensional effects. The shell colors are either black or dark purple, depending on the color options. The faceplate designs are also a bit between these options, the purple version having a more colorful design. Verdandi TWS employs 6 drivers per side, a quadbrid 1DD+2BA+2EST+1BCD setup.

Keep it Versatile: Wireless or Wired

Verdandi TWS’s true distinction is its hybrid functionality. Out of the box, it works perfectly as a wireless TWS, offering the freedom expected from modern wireless earphones. It really functions exactly as a TWS IEM, but with incomparably superior sound quality.

Once connected with the included 2-pin cable and the earpieces powered off (by long-pressing the faceplates), Verdandi TWS instantly transforms into a wired flagship-level IEM. This versatility makes it ideal for both on-the-go users who want convenience and stationary audiophiles who want extensive listening with their DAP. The 2pin cable is optional and could be purchased with or without, depending on your needs. If you have an alternative standard 2pin cable, Verdandi TWS is fully compatible with them.

Touch-Control Faceplates / Bluetooth Connection

Controlling the Verdandi TWS is quite easy and is aligned with the standard TWS command language. Using different numbers of taps and long presses for different commands, the earpieces can command play/pause, next/previous tracks, voice commands, and power on/off. As for the connection, Verdandi TWS provides a very stable connection that is as reliable as average true wireless devices and earphones.

The Fit & Wear

The earpiece design of Verdandi TWS follows Kinera’s signature ergonomic philosophy. The shells are slightly larger than typical TWS models to accommodate the hybrid driver system, though it doesn’t reach the point of being bulky if you’re familiar with IEMs in general. The bone conduction drivers are slightly extruded from the inner cavity, allowing closer and direct contact with the ear canal. The nozzles are also slimmer than the original Verdandi for better comfort and a tighter fit.

Despite the ergonomic design, there are still possibilities for the earpieces falling off if you actually intend to use them as a daily TWS with various activities – running or exercises, for example. To ensure a safer fit (or just a peace of mind that your ears won’t drop them), Kinera put extra measures by including a 2pin earhook that could be inserted into the 2pin female sockets. They do not have any digital features, but are meant to give you that additional stability. You surely don’t want to drop your $1k+ earphones!
